Our Services
Assess
Our assessments show where your organization stands in the areas that matter most to you. We gather data through surveys, interviews, and observation, then provide a comprehensive report with clear, actionable next steps.
Connect
From our signature Tahoe offsites to facilitated workshops and change management initiatives, we bring teams together to strengthen connection and alignment. We work with every member of your team to foster a culture where people know they matter.
Sustain
We coach both leadership teams and individual leaders. Coaching can focus on a specific goal—such as strengthening role fit or retention—or provide broader ongoing counsel. Sessions are available in person or virtually.
About our Founder:
Tory D.A. Taylor
Tory Taylor founded Attuned To to help bridge the gap between management research and practice, with a particular interest in helping startups maximize their potential. She has spent more than ten years researching organizational behavior and more than twenty years working in business, government, and education.
In her doctoral research, Tory studied employee voice—how and why people speak up at work. Her dissertation identified and empirically established a powerful motivation for speaking up: a duty to voice. This work challenged the common view that people speak up primarily for their own benefit, highlighting instead the prosocial, values-based side of voice. Tory also studied how people raise issues strategically over time, and how the desire to make a good impression (or avoid making a bad one) shapes how we communicate.
Outside of her research, Tory has founded and run multiple businesses and taught more than a dozen undergraduate management courses. Drawing on both her research and field experience, she designed the Attuned Method to help teams connect and engage more deeply.
As an avid rock climber, Tory has a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the unique way shared physical activity helps people become more attuned—to themselves, to each other, and to their environment. Attuned Offsites are designed from this perspective, getting teams out of the office and into moments that bring people together.
Sample Tahoe Offsite Itinerary
All-inclusive
Starting at $2500/person
-
Before the trip, we administer the Attuned Assessment and gather everyone’s individual preferences and requests. We use both to plan the itinerary and shape the workshops, ensuring the offsite reflects what your team needs and cares about most.
-
Depart the Bay Area and stop for lunch along the way. Arrive in Truckee by mid-afternoon and check into your lodging. Take some time to unpack and relax, then gather for happy hour. Afterward, head to historic downtown Truckee for dinner to kick off your team's first night in the mountains.
-
After breakfast, head out with local guides for the day's group adventure, such as rock climbing, kayaking, or hiking. Everyone takes part at their own level, working through challenges and cheering each other on. Break for lunch, then return in the afternoon for a facilitated workshop tailored to your team. Wrap up the day with a group dinner and an evening of connection.
-
Enjoy breakfast and check out of your lodging. Spend the late morning by the lake reflecting on the trip through painting or another creative activity, then gather for a final team lunch before heading home.
-
After the trip, we reconnect with your team to debrief the offsite, share feedback, and recommend next steps for ongoing learning and development. We also offer follow-up workshops and coaching for teams and leaders who want continued support.
Offsites offer a true break from the daily grind, especially when they are low-tech. Stepping out of the office to connect with nature and try something new takes people out of their usual routines.
Researchers have found that when team members share physical experiences that invite them to step outside their comfort zones together, it changes how they relate to one another. Chatting in the sunshine while rock climbing at Donner Summit is a very different conversation than deliberating over a project in a conference room.
Beyond the change of scenery, offsites are effective because of their structure. In day-to-day work, it’s easy to get tunnel vision, caught up in whatever task or deadline is right in front of us. Stepping away from those daily pressures—and setting aside dedicated time together—gives teams the rare opportunity to pause, reflect, and align on where they’re headed.
At the same time, simply getting out of the office isn’t enough. When offsites aren't designed with care, their impact fades quickly, or they can even be counterproductive. Many companies end up with either a fun trip that doesn't translate back to work or a series of long meetings in a different conference room.
While we handle all of the planning and logistics, our real value comes from our expertise in group behavior. We structure every part of the experience and provide follow-up coaching and support so the connection you develop in the mountains is sustained long after you get back to the Bay.
